Donate NowThe Sylhet Flood of 2022 devastated many parts of Bangladesh, leaving countless individuals and families without access to food, medical care, and shelter. In response, ALHERA mobilized local volunteers to provide immediate assistance and support to those affected by the disaster.
The Sylhet Flood presented a significant challenge for ALHERA and its partners. With many areas cut off by floodwaters, providing aid and support to vulnerable communities proved difficult. Access to basic necessities like food and medical care was severely limited, leaving many individuals and families in desperate need of assistance.
ALHERA and its local volunteers quickly jumped into action, providing essential aid to those impacted by the Sylhet Flood. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to distribute 1,500 aid packages containing essential items like rice, lentils, and other non-perishable foods to those in need within a matter of days. Volunteers also provided medicinal packages and dry food to the areas surrounding Osmaninagar, which were only accessible by boat.
The impact of ALHERA's relief efforts has been significant, providing vital support to vulnerable communities and helping them to recover from the devastating impact of the flood. We remain committed to continuing our efforts to reach the most isolated and vulnerable communities affected by the disaster and to provide them with the support they need to rebuild their lives.
